MASTERPLAN

Windlesham Science Campus Surrey

The Site
A 20 hectare site that evolved from a small cluster of rural dwellings prior to becoming Erlwood Manor and pleasure grounds in the early 20th century. In 1967 the site was purchased by American pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly who established a science research centre. Laboratory buildings were added over the decades at the core of the site within a wider campus setting of open grassland and various woodland blocks.

Design Services
In 2021 the new owner UCB commissioned a design team to transform and modernise the site prior to occupation, featuring an amazing new building at the core by Heatherwick Studio.

Results
Lead landscape designer Emily Erlam engaged LGLA as a freelance consultant to assist with integration of the landscape around new and existing architecture to provide a truly dynamic and engaging environment.
