The Site
This redevelopment of two large office buildings, just south of the river Thames, looks to re-use the existing structural frames but incorporate a revised footprint and enhanced public realm.
Design Services
The landscape proposals were fully coordinated with the design team from the outset to ensure the project meets the required Urban Greening Factor (UGF) despite the challenges of an existing hard urban environment.
Results
The proposals include careful spatial design to maximise the effect of green interventions at street level, on upper terraces and at roof level in the form of pollinator gardens, an intensive green roof and significant vertical planting. This provides seasonal variation, texture and movement throughout. The premium upper terraces have specific landscape treatments and will provide sensational views towards the City and across Bankside. The planning application was delivered in record time with a successful outcome March 2025.
