MASTERPLAN

Eden Hotel, Cornwall

The Site
Brownfield land adjacent to the main Eden Project site with challenging gradients and accessibility.

Design Services
LGLA worked collaboratively with the client and design team to integrate the building into the site and surrounding landscape, turning the challenging levels and gradients to an advantage. This included incorporating historic stone bank and platform which were possibly a remnant from the earlier china clay industry. This prompted a split in the building at the main entrance, creating a dramatic feature at the core of the project. LGLA also undertook the Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA) which influenced the design of the building, minimising visibility from the surroundings.

Results
The project succesfully achieved planning permission.
