The Site
The original site masetrplan for Eden included an open amphitheatre at the centre of the site but time and budget constraints meant it was very basic at the time of the public opening.
Design Services
Luke Greysmith (at LUC) was engaged to carry out a design review to increase the capacity to 8000 alongside providing wheelchair access routes. The Arena has since gone on to host many famous musicians at the annual Eden Sessions.
Results
New stone retaining walls were introduced from either side providing the necessary access and the audience area expanded without compromising adjacent exhibits, setting up a unique and magical atmosphere with incredible acoustics.
